The report highlights what the ceramic cell changes in everyday vehicle operation: no humidification, no freezing in winter, waste heat usable for heating.

Those properties follow from the design: the cell is solid-state ceramic through and through — a 38-mm micro-tube whose nanocrystalline electrolyte conducts ions at an operating temperature of 450–600 °C. Nothing burns and nothing moves inside the cell; fuel is converted directly into electricity, at about 20 dB.
